The Continuous Process of Introductions:
Discover Your Authentic Self
This workshop treats self-introduction as lifelong practice. Through short stories, reflection, and polls, participants explore identity beyond labels and learn to build trust with others. The outcome: practical skills in self-awareness and ethical connection that directly support meaningful TRC and EDI work.

EDI meets TRC
Honouring the Story as History:
The workshop will frame the act of sharing one's own story as essential preparation for respecting the stories of others. It challenges the colonial mindset that prioritizes facts and metrics over lived experience, which historically dismissed Indigenous Storywork and oral histories.
Workshop Activity:
Participants reflect on the "Too Much Info [TMI]" boundary when sharing their history. This leads to a discussion: "How does our discomfort with sharing our own personal histories make us less prepared to create the ethical space required to respectfully receive the historical and painful narratives central to Indigenous Truth-Telling?" This encourages participants to view reconciliation as relational work that starts with self-awareness.
TRC (Truth and Reconciliation):
EDI (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion):
Challenging One-Dimensional Profiling:
The story about using horoscopes or MBTI types to "profile" a coworker highlights how quickly people jump to reductive labels. The workshop teaches participants to resist these one-dimensional categorizations.
Workshop Activity:
Participants will identify their personal "gifts" (privileges, wisdom, talents) through an abundance lens. This leads to a discussion about responsibility: "How does understanding my own privileges/gifts compel me to create a space that actively invites and values the unique identity and stories of those who hold different lived experiences?" The workshop promotes equity by validating diverse cultural approaches to self-presentation and relationality.

Why it matters
In a digital world that encourages quick judgments, this workshop restores the value of deep, authentic connection.
By teaching participants to control their narrative and move from superficiality to substance, The Continuous Process of Introductions fosters the interpersonal trust required for meaningful dialogue on diversity and equity.
Funding ensures that future leaders are trained to build relationships that are resilient, empathetic, and truly inclusive.
